Optimus Primavera Sound is the Portuguese counterpart of the Primavera Sound festival that has taken place in Barcelona for twelve years. The City of Porto will host, for the second consecutive year, the Portuguese edition, happening between May 3oth and June 1st at the Parque da Cidade, an urban park of huge dimensions, located by the Atlantic coast, with a 30.000 people capacity.
Optimus Primavera Sound's line-up counts with an ample selection of international artists, as well as a significant representation of the Portuguese musical landscape. The artistic line follows the same guidelines of the Barcelona music event that distinguishes itself by the variety of styles and the investment in new bands, highlighting both the local scene and international artists, with long and respected careers.
After the success of the first edition, Optimus Primavera Sound is already a compulsory stop in the Southern European festival circuit. The excellent geographical location, Porto's good communication routes with Europe and the entry of the festival in the Portuguese musical panorama contributes to the city's growth and its projection as a culture capital, and its international boosting as a touristic destination.
